It’s time to say goodbye to short fall days and hello to days with longer periods of sunshine (hooray!).
While it’s not quite short sleeve weather just yet, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect and make the most out of the time you do have…even if the weather is a bit nippy.
Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of the winter months:
New Year’s Resolutions aside, what do you want to accomplish in your life over the next couple of months? If you haven’t recently taken the time to look inwards, the wintertime is a great time to pause and reflect on your goals, aspirations and dreams. Why not plan your next action-packed move while things are resting and in hibernation?
Learn a new skill.
Instead of kicking back with a set of DVDs or streaming video of your favorite TV show and/or movies you’ve seen dozen times before and going into automatic “hibernation mode,” why not learn a new skill? Now more than ever it’s easier to learn new skills from the comfort of your own home either with books, videos or online tutorials. You could learn how to knit, build your own website, brush up on your Spanish, or learn a new set of workout routines right at home. Make it a goal to share your masterpiece or hard work with your friends and family when the springtime rolls around.

Do some de-cluttering.
Okay, you don’t have to go wild here and thoroughly clean the house from top to bottom, but why not clean out a few clutter-prone areas in your home or office? Enjoy seasonal outdoor activities.
Are you a bit fan of cold-weather activities such as skiing, sledding, snowboarding or ice skating? The wintertime won’t be around forever, so be sure to get out there and have fun. Even if you’re not a big fan of the outdoors, simply taking a short walk in the cold brisk air can help clear your head from stale indoor air and lessen the pangs of cabin fever.
