The Order Expert’s 2014 Year in Review

Image of a sunset on a lake and phrase, The Order Expert's 2014 Year in Review2014 is quickly coming to a close….wouldn’t you agree?

I always find it helpful to do a bit of reflection on the past year to see just where I’ve been and where I’m headed.

In this post, I share with you some of the milestones I reached this year on The Order Expert and other places on the web.

Before we begin, I’d like to say a big “thank you” to all of my readers and followers.

Thank you for reading my blog and for your continued support!

I’m truly grateful to be a part of your lives.

Your comments, emails and notes mean a lot to me and I’m so glad my tips and advice are helping you to be more organized, each and every day.

I’d also like to extend a special thanks to my treasured family and friends, who continue to support me in all of my blogging, writing and professional endeavors.

It’s been quite a landmark year for me and my blog. I couldn’t have done it without your encouragement, inspiration and love!

Just what happened in 2014 on The Order Expert?

I didn’t realize how much had happened until I sat down and reviewed my calendar and notes…

JanuaryImage of phrase 500th post

I hosted the TMPO challenge on The Order Expert’s Facebook page. The challenge featured a series of small Time Management, Productivity and Organizing tasks that can be done in less than fifteen minutes. I also happily celebrated my 500th post here on the blog!

I also published several guest blog posts on Lifehack.org, including: How to Pack Your Bag for a Short Weekend Trip, 10 Things to Start with if You Want to Remove Clutter from Your Life, 10 Reasons You Need to Time-Box Yourself and 10 Small Things You Can Do to Save Time in the Office.

February

I hosted my very first product giveaway to mark the end of the TMPO Challenge. One lucky reader Image of my Tailor Made Whiteboard Calendarwon a Tailor Made Whiteboard! Obviously, the giveaway is now closed, but you can still read about my review of Tailor Made Whiteboards.

February was also a busy month for Lifehack.org guest posts including: 16 Habits that are Killing Your Productivity, 5 Simple Techniques You Need to Learn to Stop Procrastinating, and 12 Ways to Be a Highly Effective Organizer.

I wrote and published a book! How to Plan a Great Event in 60 Days (self-published). The eBook is a step-by-step guide to planning is a large event in, you guessed it, 60 days.

I also started a special Facebook page to accompany the launch of the eBook and wrote a special post on Lifehack.org called, The 10 Lists You Need to Make to Plan a Great Party or Event.

AprilImage of phrase, "Happy Birthday"

The Order Expert celebrated it’s third birthday at the end of April! Wow!

I celebrated with a list of my (then) 30 favorite posts.

Two Lifehack.org articles went out in April: 7 Ways to Focus on What Really Matters, and 6 Tips to Estimate Your Time More Effectively.

May

Blogging, as usual. I had a post out on Lifehack.org entitled, The Secret to Completing an Overwhelming Project Effectively.

June

A relatively quiet month. I suppose I needed a bit of break from all the excitement in the winter and spring!

JulyImage of phrase, 600th Post!

I happily celebrated my 600th post by answering reader questions in the comments section.

Reader Juanita received some of my help when it came to organizing her office/crafting space.

August

Another somewhat quiet month…guess you could say it was summer break!

In addition to my regular blogging, September saw two Lifehack.org articles, 15 Useful Tips to Defeat Procrastination, Once and for All and 10 Helpful Tips to Effectively Declutter Your House.

I was thrilled to find out my procrastination article was picked up by Umano.com, an audio digital library.

The article was turned into an audio format and received nearly 1,000 plays!

I celebrated Halloween with my annual tradition of writing an organizing/time management/productivity post with a spooky twist.

This year’s post was entitled, A Monster’s Guide to Being Productive: An Interview with a Zombie, Siren and a Dragon on Paranormal Productivity.

November

I started a new series on the blog called Organization Gift Ideas. These gift guides all have a bit of an organizing spin on them, with a focus on “putting things in order,” or at least making life a bit more organized, streamlined and stress-free.

November saw the three guides: Commuter Gift Ideas, Kitchen Gift Ideas and Exercise Gift Ideas.

December

Blogging, per usual. I wrapped up this year’s Organization Gift Ideas series with Closet Gift Ideas and Desk Gift Ideas.

Wow, what a year! I’m really looking forward to 2015 and all blogging adventures and experiences it will bring.

So you know, one of my upcoming projects in the New Year is a time management eBook.

Thank you once again for a wonderful and fruitful 2014! I hope this past year was a good one for you and all of your professional and personal goals.

Here’s to a fantastic 2015!

Yours in order,

Rashelle
