How to Pack a Small Purse for a Concert or Event

Wondering exactly how you should pack a small purse for a concert or event?

Do you want to have everything you need…without having to schlep around everything you own?

Creating a perfectly-packed purse is a skill you’ll want to hone.

In this post, you’ll find a handful of tips to help you pack a small purse the smart way.

I was inspired to write this post after I packed a small purse for a standing-room only concert last week.

I spent several minutes pairing down my belongings and thought others might benefit from a mini-tutorial.

If you happen to be traveling sans-purse, don’t worry.

Several of these tips can be applied to a small bag, backpack, or even your pockets.

Choose your bag wisely.

Make sure you’ve selected the proper purse or bag for the concert or event in question.

It could be casual, dressy, elegant, sporty or professional.

You’ll want something that is not only comfortable to carry and wear, but that can be securely fastened.

You don’t want to worry about belongings flying when you turn about abruptly or start dancing!

Make a list of must-have items.

If you’re out and about in the world, you’ll most likely need a few basic items.

These include a photo ID or driver’s license, credit card or ATM/Debit card, house keys, car keys, transportation pass, print or email tickets, and your smart phone.

Feel free to add or subtract to this basic list as necessary.

Be brief with beauty supplies.

Ladies, you may want to look fabulous the whole night, but go easy on what you pack.

Pack only what you will actually use or need for touch-ups.

This includes items such as lipstick, powder or blotting paper. Pack other toiletries with discretion.

Slim down your wallet.

Remove any and all items you won’t need including with you for your outing.

This includes membership, store, reward, or library cards, and other items.

Be sure to turn out those wallet sections and remove receipts, papers and loose coins.

Alternatively, remove items you need and place them in a smaller, flatter wallet or money clip for your night out.

Tech savvy? Go the digital route on your smart phone.

Just make sure all of your banking, ticket, and other apps are properly installed and up to date before you leave.

It’s a good idea to fully charge your phone before you head out for the evening.

No matter which route you take, it’s always a good idea to carry some cash with you in case of an emergency.

Get rid of your clunky keys.

Do you have a giant set of keys with a lanyard, different key chains and other items randomly attached?

Now is the right time to slim down your house and car keys.

Detach any unnecessary keys, trinkets, club cards and other baubles.

You’ll be thankful to not have to carry around the extra weight or try to squeeze your keys into your bag.

Pack it up.

Pack up everything into your purse. Does everything fit comfortably? If not, can you weed out some items?

Remember, when it comes to concerts or events, less is more.

Make things comfortable for yourself and leave those unneeded and unnecessary items at home!
